There is a challenger for the job of Petawawa Mayor.
Wayne Bando, a former civil engineer with 44 years of municipal experience working in the GTA, will be on the ballot for the October 26th municipal election.
Bando’s ancestors settled in Petawawa in 1880, and while he lived away for four decades, he returned home in 2017.
If he’s elected, he says his priorities would be to go after uncollected property taxes and money owed to accounts receiveable.
The candidate says he can help improve the bottom line at Petawawa town hall.
Bando suggests the town needs better cooperation between departments like planning and public works when it comes to planning for future growth.
Bando is up against the incumbent, Mayor Gary Serviss, in this election. You can read more about Serviss here https://www.pembroketoday.ca/2026/08/25/146303/.
