Long-time Petawawa Councillor Theresa Sabourin is running for re-election. Sabourin has been elected to Town Council the last 4-terms and has been a Petawawa resident since 1970.
The former executive director of the Petawawa Military Family Resource Centre says she wanted to get involved in municipal politics to work with community members and help the Town of Petawawa grow.
Sabourin is active on the Civic Centre fundraising committee, is the chair of the housing corporation, on the accessible advisory committee, the Petawawa Business Advisory Network, is involved with her local parish, a volunteer with the Petawawa Pantry Food Bank, and coordinator of the annual Christmas Angels program.
Theresa Sabourin is one of the candidates running for a seat on Petawawa Town Council. Other candidates running in the October 24th Municipal Election are Simon Brooks, James Carmody, Lisa Coutu, Karen Donovan, Adam Driscoll, Gerald Hoffman, Matthew McLean, Cyndi Mills, Murray Rutz, and Barry Schimmens.
Gary Serviss and Jody Anne McDonald are the two candidates running to replace long-time Petawawa Mayor Bob Sweet who will not be seeking re-election after 34-years as an elected official and 22-years as Mayor.
