The Pembroke Public Library is getting ready for a grand reopening on Monday, April 4th, 2022. The library on Victoria Street has been closed for renovations, but continued to offer curbside pick-up. Anusha Arul, who does programming and outreach for the library, tells myFM that staff are excited to welcome people back inside the newly renovated building.
Some of the work completed over the last two years at the Pembroke Public Library includes installing new shelves, enhancing the wifi service and a flooring project. Arul adds the library looks a bit different after all the work that’s been completed.
Arul tells myFM the Pembroke Public Library has missed offering in-person programming.
Some of the programming to look forward to at the Pembroke Public Library includes; beginner water colour lessons, a knitting circle, book circle, English conversation groups for newcomers, an author visit with childrens story time on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
If you don’t have one, getting a Pembroke Public Library card is an easy process and free for residents in Pembroke and Laurentian Valley, just bring a piece of ID with your proof of address.
Staff at the Pembroke Public Library want to remind the community they offer more than just books. Circulation and IT Coordinator Anna Ritza has told myFM the library is a resource hub with computers, ukuleles, the property identification tool and a variety of free programming.
The library has some exciting stuff planned for the grand opening on April 4th, 2022, including draws for prizes, giveaways and some displays.
Doors open at the library Monday morning at 10:00am and the facility is open from Monday to Saturday between the hours of 10:00am and 5:00pm.
