HIGHWAY 17 REOPENS AFTER CLOSURE DUE TO FOREST FIRE

Highway 17 is open again after smoke from a forest fire forced the road to close last night. The highway was closed down between Mattawa and Petawawa around 9:30 last night after smoke from a fire severely reduced visibility, making the road unsafe for driving.

Results are in the from the annual Renfrew County District School Board's Golf For Kids tournament. Hundreds came out to support the cause at the Oaks of Cobden, by raising over $12,000.

STREET LIGHT POLES BEING REPLACED IN DOWNTOWN PEMBROKE

The process has begun to replace the street light poles in Pembroke's downtown. As part of city council's 2018 captial budget, $150,000 was allocated for phase one of the replacment of the poles on the main drag.
