PEMBROKE MAN FACING CHARGES AFTER ALLEGEDLY SHOOTING CHILD WITH BB GUN

The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP say a 76 year old Pembroke man is to appear in court next month charged with allegedly shooting a child with a B-B gun. Police say they received a complaint on July 11th that a six-year-old child had been shot in the arm at a Pembroke home.

Algonquin College in Pembroke has a new Academic Chair for the Business, Technology and Outdoor Training department. Algonquin College graduate Shayne Hoelke has accepted the position and will begin is new job on August 2nd.

KINETTE AND KINSMEN CLUBS TO MERGE

A super group is being formed in the City of Pembroke. The Kinette and Kinsmen Clubs are merging to become the Kin Club, though it won't be official until the paperwork is approved by the Kin Club of Canada.

DEMO DERBY, RAM RODEO HIGHLIGHT BEACHBURG FAIR WEEKEND

The demolition derby is one again part of opening night at the Beachburg Fair. The derby starts at 7:30pm tonight (July 22) at the ball diamond. Then tomorrow, 1 Vice President, Angie McCutcheon, says they?ve brought in a new event.
