Gokumi Sushi & Steak Bar in Petawawa is raising money for people in Ukraine. Waitress Aya Hammond tells myFM the fundraiser is taking place this week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (March 2nd to March 4th, 2022) from 4:00pm to 5:00pm.
Hammond says the community is invited to purchase a $20 set of sushi along with a box of Korean fried chicken with all funds going directly to the UNHCR under the Ukraine emergency fund.
She adds Gokumi Sushi & Steak Bar is hoping to raise $2,000 to help make a difference in the lives of people living in Ukraine.
The local waitress says people are losing their homes, belongings, loves ones and even their own life. Hammond says it’s devastating and very disheartening to hear the events occuring in our world today, specifically in Ukraine.
The $20 sushi set will include a California roll and Tempura shrimp roll, along with 4pcs of our boneless Korean fried chicken.
You can preorder by sending your name and phone number to gokumisushi@hotmail.com (limit of two sets per family).
Dine-in options are also available at the restaurant located at 3025 Petawawa Boulevard.
