The COVID-19 vaccine has arrived at Miramichi Lodge in Pembroke.
The news comes a day after 162 residents at Bonnechere Manor in Renfrew received their first doses of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.
Director of long-term care with the County of Renfrew, Shelley Sheedy tells myFM, COVID-19 vaccinations at the Pembroke long-term care home are underway today (Monday, February 8th, 2021).
Last week, the Acting Medical Officer of Health with the Renfrew County and District Health Unit, Doctor Robert Cushman, said we should receive enough vaccines to get through phase one of the vaccination process by the middle to end of March.
In Ontario, COVID-19 vaccines likely won’t be available to the general public until August depending on availability.
