The Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) has confirmed the 40th case of COVID-19.
The numbers released today show a staff member at a local school who lives in Petawawa has tested positive for the virus.
Communications Manager with the Renfrew County District School Board, Jonathan Laderoute, says the case is linked to the case confirmed last week at Fellowes.
Last week an employee at Fellowes High School in Pembroke tested positive for COVID-19.
Laderoute adds the school remains open for students and staff and they continue to work closely with the Renfrew County and District Health Unit (RCDHU) to ensure that students and staff are protected.
With 40 confirmed cases, 33 considered resolved and one death, the RCDHU is aware of six active cases, all in self-isolation.
