The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) is aware of a small forest fire near Bissett Creek.
The 0.2 hectare blaze is listed as under control and was first reported last night (Tuesday, June 16th) shortly after 6:15pm.
Fire crews with Garrison Petawawa are also on the scene of a 15 hectare fire in the range and training area. The public may see smoke and air quality may be affected for short periods of time, but there’s no cause for alarm as firefighters are on the scene.
The Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services would like to remind residents to use caution when doing any outdoor burning.
The MNRF says you should always have the appropriate tools and water on site to contain any fires.
You can get an update on the forest fire situation across Ontario on the MNRF website.
