A fireworks show is being planned in Bonnechere Valley for Canada Day.
During the council meeting on June 2nd, it was decided to go ahead with a physically distant Canada Day celebration.
Fire Chief Dave Murphy said instead of having 20 people set up for 4-hours they could have 5 people set up for the whole day.
The Chief says ideally they will be able to shoot off all the fireworks electronically.
Council approved the order of fireworks which are expected to arrive just in time for July 1st. A rain date has been set for Saturday, July 4th.
Bonnechere Valley Mayor Jennifer Murphy suggested that spectators physically distance from their vehicles. The Mayor adds if they can do it safely with the community leading by example, she would love to see fireworks on Canada Day.
More details will be shared as they become available.
