Residents in the Town of Petawawa are reminded to register their cats and dogs online with DocuPet. Starting this month, the municipality has switched to online registrations for pet tags. Petawawa has partnered with DocuPet on a trial basis in an effort to save over 530 staff hours per year. Petawawa Mayor Bob Sweet says pet licenses are important for animal welfare and public safety. He adds properly identified cats and dogs are much more likely to be returned home safely. To help ensure all pets get home safely, all pet licenses from DocuPet now come with the free HomeSafe™ Lost Pet Service. DocuPet also donates 20% of all proceeds from the sale of local tags towards the Renfrew County OSPCA. Pet owners can renew pet licenses online, over the phone, by mail or in person. The Town of Petawawa does not license pets on the Garrison’s North and South Town Sites.
