Noel Patrick LeClair passed away October 14 in his 87th year, 42 days after his beloved wife of 64 years, Sharon (Née Sullivan) LeClair.
In his final weeks, his faith and certainty they would soon be reunited steadied him.
He is survived by his brother Donald; sister Elayne (Danilo Rosa); children Kelly (Becher Raffoul) and Christian; and grandchildren Syranda and Nicholas.
He was predeceased by his parents, Tom and Esther LeClair, and sister-in-law Sandra (Griffin) LeClair.
Noel often said he was a lucky man, with good fortune at the cribbage table, three hole-in-ones and a series of small serendipities to his name.
But he will be remembered for how he lived: work hard, laugh often, and above all be kind. Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus and lifelong volunteer, he believed success meant offering a hand up.
He was among the first generation of computer programmers at Canadair. Quick with a joke, musical, analytical, and unfailingly generous, Noel shared his great love of life with those around him. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 29th, 6–8 p.m., at the Murphy Funeral Home 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 30th, 10 a.m. at, St. Columbkille’s Cathedral, Pembroke.
A joint service and burial for Noel and Sharon will be held in Montreal at a later date.
