A communications officer with Canadian Nuclear Laboratories is urging Pembroke residents to tune into 104.9 myFM this week to learn a bit about nuclear science and maybe win a prize.
Nuclear Science Week, a globally-recognized observance commemorating the field’s importance, is being held this year from Monday, October 19th to Friday, October 23rd.
That’s Leigh Costello with CNL, who says her team is partnering with myFM for one of its awareness events this year: a trivia contest.
Beyond the contest, Costello also says a “sip and science” event is scheduled for October 24th at Sipsters in downtown Pembroke.
The event is free to attend and runs from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. on the 24th. CNL, Costello says, is also hosting educational events at various local public libraries.
Anyone interested in learning more about nuclear science can visit CNL’s website, and tune in to 104.9 myFM this week to hear more about the trivia contest.
