Families in the Pembroke area can get some candy early ahead of Halloween while supporting a good cause next weekend.
Smitty’s Home Hardware Building Centre is hosting a “Trunk-or-Treat to Beat Hunger” event next Saturday, October 24th in support of St. Joseph’s Food Bank.
Organizer Ashley Bucci says it’ll be a fun, family-friendly Halloween event for the community to enjoy.
Bucci says she has always loved Halloween, and that plus a desire to give back and bring the community together led to her conceptualizing the event.
All attendees are encouraged to bring cash or non-perishable food items for Bucci and her team to donate to the food bank.
Bucci says there will be over 20 decorated vehicles for kids to peruse.
The event runs from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the 24th.
