A Kirkland Lake man is the latest winner in the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation’s Catch the Ace lottery.
Nick Gardiner won $11,647 after his ticket was drawn during the Week 16 draw.
Gardiner also had the opportunity to uncover the Ace of Spades and claim the weekly jackpot, but the ace remains hidden, meaning the jackpot will continue to grow ahead of next week’s draw.
The win makes Gardiner the second winner in the current round to live outside the Ottawa Valley, highlighting the lottery’s reach across Ontario and beyond.
PRH Foundation executive director Roger Martin says the participation from outside the region demonstrates the widespread support for the hospital.
The Catch the Ace lottery raises money for health-care equipment and other needs at Pembroke Regional Hospital, with proceeds helping support local patients and families.
