Starting next month, it’s going to be easier for Pembroke Regional Hospital patients to access their medical records.
PRH President and CEO Sabine Mersmann says the hospital is introducing the “MyChart” program in October as part of its new “Epic” health information platform.
According to Mersmann, work has been underway for some time to move away from their current paper charting system to a new, digital system. They chose the Epic platform because it’s currently in use by other Ottawa Valley hospitals.
Health information and records from all sixteen hospitals in the network – including Renfrew Victoria Hospital, Deep River and District Health and more – will be accessible through the MyChart system when it launches in Pembroke.
Mersmann says it will go live at some point in October, with further details to be shared later, and it will be available to all local patients at no cost.
The hospital will issue an announcement the day the MyChart program goes live.
