Pembroke residents are being invited for a night of casual cornhole as the local Royal Canadian Legion branch prepares to start up its competitive league for the season.
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 72 Public Relations Officer Rose Laidlaw says the facility is running a cornhole event to attract potential players and celebrate “Legion Week.”
The Monday night event is raising money for the Legion with its $5 entry fee, and Laidlaw says if participants enjoy it, they can sign up as part of a team for their regular cornhole league starting Monday, October 19th.
For this week’s game, Laidlaw says participants can sign up individually and be assigned to a team. The event is also for ages 19 and up. Laidlaw has some advice for people interested in learning more:
Early-bird rates to renew Legion membership for next year are also available. Registration for the cornhole league fun day begins at 5:00 p.m. Monday, September 21st.
