The Petawawa Heritage Village will be illuminated for the holiday season during three evenings of Christmas Lights in the Village in December.
The event is scheduled for Dec. 12, 19 and 23, from approximately 6 to 8 p.m. at the historic village on Civic Centre Road.
The village buildings and most of the fences will be decorated with Christmas lights, with visitors invited to walk through the grounds and view the displays after dark.
A bonfire will be available at the fire pit near the church, while the historic church will remain open with a wood stove burning for visitors looking to warm up.
Hot chocolate will be available throughout the evening. Visitors can also bring their own food and refreshments, as the village will not be providing other food or drinks.
Admission is free, with donations accepted to support the preservation, maintenance and operation of the Petawawa Heritage Village.
“Christmas Lights in the Village gives people a chance to experience the Heritage Village in a completely different way,” representatives of the village said in a statement.
The event will be held at 176 Civic Centre Road in Petawawa. Visitors are encouraged to dress warmly.
More information and event updates are available through the Petawawa Heritage Village’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
