The Nostalgia Music Festival has announced a new partnership with Ronald McDonald House Ottawa, with proceeds from the festival’s 50/50 raffle going toward families with seriously ill or injured children receiving medical care in the capital.
The festival, held at LeBreton Flats, brings together music fans for performances celebrating iconic artists and songs.
Under the new partnership, festival attendees and members of the public can purchase 50/50 raffle tickets, with half of the jackpot going to the winning ticket holder and the other half supporting Ronald McDonald House Ottawa.
The charity has provided accommodation and support to families travelling to Ottawa for their children’s medical care for 42 years. Its recent expansion increased the facility from 14 to 36 family suites, allowing it to eliminate its waitlist and serve more than twice as many families each year.
Money raised through the raffle will help provide accommodations, meals and family support programs for those staying at the House during medical crises.
“We are incredibly grateful to Nostalgia Music Festival for choosing Ronald McDonald House Ottawa as a charitable partner,” CEO Christine Hardy said in a release.
Hardy said the partnership demonstrates how community support can help families stay close to their children while they receive medical treatment.
Ronald McDonald House Ottawa serves families from across Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec, as well as communities as far north as Nunavut.
More information about the charity and its programs is available through its website.
