TODAY: Evening Hike takes place in Petawawa this Monday, August 17, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Town-organized program is designed for teens and offers a chance to get outside, explore local trails and meet other young outdoor enthusiasts. Registration is required and the cost is $5.
TODAY: Petawawa Council-in-Committee is scheduled for Monday, August 17, with the Town’s meetings schedule listing the meeting for 6:00 p.m. Residents interested in local municipal decisions and upcoming projects can attend or follow the meeting through the Town’s public-streaming options.
TODAY: Scent Detection – Skills Sessions begins a new Monday evening session this August 17 at 6:00 p.m. at Howie’s Hall near Pembroke. The TailWaggersK9Sport program is for dogs already imprinted on the specified odours and working on search areas and distractors. The session runs through October 5, with registration required.
TODAY: The Athletic Pursuers Camp begins this Monday, August 17, and runs through Friday, August 21 in Petawawa. The Town’s summer-camp schedule says participants will learn skills in a variety of traditional sports as well as international games, including activities such as tchoukball, spikeball, handball and soccer. This is a registered youth camp rather than a drop-in community event.
TOMORROW: Exploring Entrepreneurship: From Idea Overload to Business Clarity takes place Tuesday, August 18, at 11:00 a.m. as a webinar hosted through Enterprise Renfrew County. The session is aimed at aspiring entrepreneurs who have business ideas but need help deciding which direction to pursue, covering idea validation, decision-making and practical next steps.
TOMORROW: Music Healing Veterans takes place Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Petawawa Wellness Lounge. The weekly program invites veterans to play music together, learn alongside others and build friendships in a relaxed environment.
TOMORROW: A free walk-in health clinic is scheduled for the Pembroke Public Library on Tuesday, August 18, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Renfrew County District Health Unit staff will be available for a range of services, including help accessing publicly funded dental programs and kindergarten-readiness supports for young children and their families.
TOMORROW: Rally Obedience – Rally Rookies to Novice and Beyond has its scheduled class this Tuesday, August 18, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Howie’s Hall near Pembroke. The TailWaggersK9Sport class focuses on teamwork, obedience and practical skills, but is currently limited to existing students.
