Thousands converged on downtown Pembroke this past weekend as the third annual Buskerfest took over Pembroke Street with dozens of live performers and street vendors.
Friday night’s drone show thrilled audiences with its kaleidoscope of lights in the night sky, while the main day Saturday saw a picture-perfect sunny day to take in the sights and sounds of the huge annual event.
Street performer Leandro was a long way from home, and he says he lives for the laughs and applause from the crowds.
Volunteers are what really make these community happenings so successful, and there were dozens of these busy folks meandering throughout the crowds. Volunteer Erica Van Hoof says she and all of the other volunteers had been working hard for weeks in advance to make it all come together as it did.
Performers of all shapes and sizes entertained folks all day Saturday, including four young ladies who make up the “Lift Acro Evolution” dance troupe, who were on hand to show off their talents. Member Chloe explains who they are.
Organizers and volunteers wish to thank everyone who came out on Friday and Saturday, making this year’s Buskerfest one to remember.
