TODAY: Ottawa Valley Buskerfest takes over Pembroke Waterfront Park this Friday, August 14, from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The festival’s opening night features street performers, musicians, acrobats, fire performers and a family-friendly Afterglow dance party, with a special Fire and Light Show at 7:30 p.m. and a 200-drone show at 10:00 p.m. Free admission.
TODAY: The Fly Fishing Clinic takes place in Petawawa this Friday, August 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Centennial Park as part of the Water & Dirt Festival. Learn basic casting, equipment, fly selection, rigging and fishing tactics, with equipment provided. Registration is required and the cost is $45.
TODAY: Music in the Market runs at the Petawawa Container Market this Friday, giving visitors a chance to browse products, handmade goods and creative services from local youth entrepreneurs. Admission is free.
TODAY: The Kids Adventure Dash takes place at Hugli’s Blueberry Ranch this Friday, August 14, with registration beginning at 4:30 p.m. and races starting at 6:00 p.m. for ages five to eight and 7:00 p.m. for ages nine to 12. The roughly two-kilometre obstacle course is designed around climbing, crawling, jumping and getting active.
TODAY: Hexajinn performs at Legends Live Music Venue in Pembroke this Friday night at 9:00 p.m., offering a rock show for those looking to keep the evening going after the waterfront festivities.
TOMORROW: Ottawa Valley Buskerfest moves into downtown Pembroke this Saturday, August 15, running from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The free festival turns downtown streets into an open-air stage with buskers, acrobats, musicians, juggling, circus acts and other performers, along with a skateboard demonstration from noon to 3:00 p.m.
TOMORROW: The Petawawa Container Market is open this Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., giving shoppers a chance to browse local vendors and small businesses.
TOMORROW: UnLeashed Cani-Cross gets underway on the Algonquin Trail Saturday morning as part of the Water & Dirt Festival. Check-in begins at 8:00 a.m., followed by a 9:00 a.m. kids’ race, a 9:15 a.m. 2.5-kilometre recreational race and a 9:45 a.m. five-kilometre competitive race. The event pairs runners with their dogs.
TOMORROW: The Black Bay Adventure Ride offers an ATV excursion through the Petawawa backcountry this Saturday, with registration at 9:00 a.m. and the guided ride running from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Riders will travel through paved sections, historic rail corridors and rugged woodland trails. Registration is required and the cost is $62.15; participants must provide their own insured ATV or side-by-side.
TOMORROW: The Balance Yoga Festival takes place from 8:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Beyond the Mat Studio in Petawawa. The half-day event combines yoga, wellness and community, with registration including a shirt, swag bag and meal. The cost is $90 plus HST.
