The Cobden Fair is marking 167 years in 2026.
The long running event is set for August 28th to 30th and will feature a midway, various agricultural events and the always popular demolition derby.
There are bands and artists lined up all three days. Fair Board President Meredith Mulligan says Saturday is going to be an entertaining day.
The Leahey family of Golden Lake will close the fair Sunday afternoon.
In terms of agriculture, there are beef, sheep and horse shows planned, and the newly expanded agricultural tent this year is focused on dairy.
We asked Meredith what really keeps people coming back after 167 years at a time when so many other small town fairs have disbanded? She thinks it’s because they keep the focus on agriculture and keeping the fair affordable.
Admission is $20 for Friday and Saturday and $16 for Sunday but it’s only $16 for each day if you buy tickets in advance at the Cobden Fair website https://cobdenfair.com/cobden-167th-fair/. There is also a weekend pass available for $35.
