A Pembroke-area resident is celebrating after winning $8,676 in the latest Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation Catch the Ace draw.
Katherine McLaughlin claimed the Week 8 weekly prize as community support for the fundraiser continues to grow, driving some of the largest weekly prizes the lottery has seen at this stage of the campaign.
Foundation officials say if the Ace of Spades is uncovered in next week’s draw, the progressive jackpot is expected to exceed $100,000.
The Catch the Ace lottery raises money for the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation’s Together, We Care Campaign, which supports the purchase of priority medical equipment and technology for Pembroke Regional Hospital.
The campaign’s latest fundraising goal is to purchase 11 new stretchers for departments throughout the hospital.
Foundation officials thanked residents for continuing to buy tickets, saying every purchase helps improve patient care by funding essential equipment and technology at the hospital.
