Beloved former Pembroke Lumber King Pat Hahn passes away

A legendary former Pembroke Lumber King has sadly passed on.

Pat Hahn, who scored 69 goals in the 1972-73 season, died in hospital on July 15th at the age of 73 after a brief illness.

While his junior career was many years ago, Hahn continued to make a name for himself in the Pembroke sports community.

The native of Otter Lake, Quebec spent decades volunteering his time and energy with the service group Kings Sports. He was also a driving force behind the Pembroke Lumber Kings Alumni Golf Tournament for 27 years.

In a tribute to Hahn on social media, Deputy Mayor Brian Abdallah says what always struck him most “was the man behind the highlight reel — decades of dedicated service and volunteering to our sports community, always giving back to the game and town that shaped him”.

The Pembroke Lumber Kings shared the following message on social media: “It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of Pat Hahn, a true Lumber Kings legend. Pat’s dedication, passion, and lasting contributions to the Pembroke Lumber Kings will never be forgotten. He was an important part of our team’s history and will always be remembered with gratitude and respect.”

A celebration of life for Pat Hahn is being planned but no date has yet been announced.
