Young entrepreneurs will once again have the opportunity to showcase their talents as the Downtown Youth Market returns to Pembroke for its seventh season.
Hosted by the Pembroke Business Improvement Area, the market will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 17, 24 and 31, as well as Aug. 7, at Shamrock Park on Pembroke Street West.
The annual event features a mix of returning vendors and first-time participants selling handmade crafts, artwork, jewellery, baked goods, clothing and other original products. Organizers say the market provides young people with valuable experience in running a business while helping them build confidence and develop entrepreneurial skills.
PBIA Executive Director Bethea Summers said it has been rewarding to watch many participants return each year with new ideas and expanded businesses. She encouraged residents to visit the market, meet the young entrepreneurs and support their efforts.
The PBIA says the Youth Market is part of its ongoing efforts to promote a vibrant downtown while fostering entrepreneurship and strengthening community connections. Organizers hope residents will shop locally throughout the four-week event and help inspire the next generation of business owners.
