This derby is not only a chance to catch a big Pickerel or Pike, but it’s also a chance for kids to connect with local police officers in a fun and welcoming environment. The Kids, Cops and Canadian Tire Fishing Derby is set for Saturday, July 18 from 9am-12pm at the boat launch on Muskrat Lake in Cobden. OPP Constable Tina Hunt says this event is open to children of all fishing experience levels.
Constable Hunt says there are prizes in various categories, donated by local sponsors.
Registration begins at 8:30 that morning, but people are encouarged to pre-register by emailing tina.hunt@opp.ca with the number of children attending and their ages.
