The OPP is warning local business owners about some fraudulent letters that have recently been received in the area.
Police say the letters contain concerning content and images and while they appear to have been sent by the Ontario Provincial Police, Renfrew OPP can confirm that these were NOT issued by the OPP.
Businesses that receive one of these letters are asked not to open the letter. Instead, they should contact the Renfrew OPP to report the incident.
Police say that recipients of the letters may have information that could help them identify who is responsible.
Anyone with information regarding these letters is asked to contact the Renfrew OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip online at Crime Stoppers, where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward.
