The Upper Ottawa Valley Little League will welcome young baseball players from across Ontario later this month as Pembroke hosts the 2026 Little League Minor Provincial Championship.
The tournament runs from July 24 to 31 at Riverside Park’s Diamond 1 and will feature some of the province’s top Little League players between the ages of eight and 10 competing for a chance to advance to the next stage of tournament play.
League president Melissa Robinson says hosting the provincial championship is an opportunity to showcase both the community and the dedication of its young athletes.
“This tournament is a wonderful opportunity for young athletes to compete at a high level while creating memories that will last a lifetime,” Robinson said in a news release.
The week-long event is expected to draw hundreds of players, coaches, families and spectators to Pembroke, providing a boost for local hotels, restaurants, shops and other businesses.
In addition to the games, organizers say the championship will include opening ceremonies, food and refreshments, and activities highlighting community involvement and volunteer support. Admission is free.
The Upper Ottawa Valley Little League also thanked its sponsors, volunteers, umpires and community partners for helping make the tournament possible.
