Another new winner has been named for the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation’s weekly Catch the Ace lottery fundraiser.
Scherry Sylvestre secured this week’s prize of $7,448 after purchasing her ticket online and pulling the ace of diamonds.
According to PRH Foundation staff members, the estimated jackpot for whichever lucky winner manages to pull the elusive ace of spades is now more than $45,000.
Proceeds from the weekly raffle go towards the Foundation’s Together We Care campaign.
To date, the campaign has helped fund the purchase of multiple acute care beds for the hospital, a patient wandering system and more.
The previous iteration of the Catch the Ace fundraiser ran for 46 weeks and brought in $1.6 million for the Together We Care campaign. When the ace was ultimately caught, the winner – a Westmeath woman – scored more than a million dollars in prize money.
Organizers thanked residents for supporting the weekly lottery, noting the jackpot will continue to grow as the draw moves into its next week.
Tickets are now on sale for the next Catch the Ace draw.
