Here’s a look at what’s going on in the town for the next 48 hours!
Summer evenings are made for getting outside, and the next couple of days offer a few great reasons to do exactly that.
Tuesday begins with families heading to the Riverside Splash Pad for Story Time at 10:30. It’s a chance for kids to enjoy a good book, cool off in the water, and spend a little time outdoors while school’s out for the summer. In Petawawa, older adults can take part in the Bike and Ice Cream Social at 11, combining a leisurely ride with a sweet treat and good company. Then at 1 o’clock, the conversation turns to the future of farming during Resilient Agriculture: Navigating Climate Change in Renfrew County, exploring how local producers are adapting to changing conditions.
Tuesday night brings one of the community’s favourite summer traditions. Movie Night in the Park starts at 9 p.m. with How to Train Your Dragon lighting up the big screen. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, settle in under the stars, and enjoy a free movie with family and friends.
Wednesday has a little bit of everything. The Pembroke Farmers’ Market runs from 2 until 6, making it a great stop for fresh produce, homemade baking and locally made goods. At 1 p.m., the Pembroke Public Library hosts Music Cafe with Homemade Jam, where visitors can enjoy live music, conversation and a welcoming afternoon together.
Then Wednesday evening, the Riverwalk Amphitheatre fills with the unmistakable sound of bagpipes as the 2 CMBG Pipes and Drums perform a free Waterfront LIVE! concert beginning at 7. It’s a performance that always brings a unique atmosphere to Pembroke’s waterfront.
That’s your community roundup — more local events coming up tomorrow!
