As the summer sun shines on The Valley it’s time once again for the annual Ice Cream Social fundraiser held in memory of the late Kendyl Smith and mother Cheryl Smith is once again heading up this important yearly event.
Kendyl’s Caring for Kids will launch its latest fundraiser at Hugli’s Blueberry Ranch on Sunday, July 5, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Every ice cream cone sold during the event will help support the Kendyl’s Caring for Kids Endowment Fund at CHEO. There will be a second “Cones for Kendyl” event on July 19th.
The annual fundraisers are held in memory of Kendyl Smith Trimm, who died in August 2023 at the age of eight after a courageous battle with osteosarcoma. Since then, Cheryl has been tirelessly keeping Kendyl’s legacy alive with numerous fundraising efforts all of which are very well attended by a generous and loving Valley Community.
Last year’s Cones for Kendyl fundraiser raised $11,007, while an earlier Ice Cream Social at Hugli’s Blueberry Ranch contributed an additional $2,710 toward the campaign. All the funds go to support the Family Assistance Program and the Child Life Program at CHEO.
