If you’re looking for something to do around Pembroke and Petawawa over the next few days, there’s a great mix of family programs, creative activities and community events to keep you busy.
Friday gets underway at the Pembroke Public Library with Hugs, Snuggles and Rhymes from 10:30 until 11:30, where babies, toddlers and their caregivers can enjoy songs, stories and early literacy activities together.
In the afternoon, the library hosts Tech Time from 2 until 4, offering one-on-one help with smartphones, tablets, computers and other technology questions. Then from 4 until 5, the French Conversation Group meets for anyone looking to practice their language skills in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
Over in Petawawa, Art2Start for children ages 7 to 10 runs from 4 until 5 at the Petawawa Public Library, followed by Sip & Paint from 6 until 7:30, where participants can enjoy a fun and creative evening of painting.
Saturday starts bright and early with the Pembroke Farmers’ Market from 9 until 1, featuring fresh local produce, baked goods, handmade crafts and more from area vendors.
The Pembroke Public Library also heads outdoors with Button Making at Shamrock Park from 10 until 2, giving visitors the chance to create their own custom buttons. Beginner Watercolour Lessons begin at 10:30 and run until 12:30, offering newcomers an introduction to painting techniques.
Also at 10:30 Saturday morning, the Outdoor Photography Club meets in Petawawa, inviting photography enthusiasts to get outside, explore the community and sharpen their skills with fellow hobbyists. At the Petawawa Public Library, Crochet Club also gets underway at 10:30, welcoming crafters of all skill levels.
Then from 11:30 until 1, the South Side Community Centre hosts its Prenatal and Postnatal Support Lunch and Learn, giving expectant and new parents an opportunity to connect, ask questions and learn from others in a supportive setting.
At this point, there are no publicly advertised community events that could be confirmed for Sunday in Pembroke or Petawawa, making it a perfect day to relax or enjoy everything the Valley has to offer.
That’s your community roundup — more local events coming up tomorrow!
