Two local teenagers are facing charges following an altercation that prompted a response from the Upper Ottawa Valley detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police earlier this month.
Police say officers were called shortly after 3:30 p.m. on June 15 after receiving reports of a crowd involved in a verbal dispute. Officers attended the scene and separated the groups before launching an investigation.
As a result, a 17-year-old has been charged with dangerous operation and mischief under $5,000, while a 16-year-old faces a charge of uttering threats to cause death. Both youths were released into the care of their parents and are scheduled to appear in Youth Court in Pembroke at a later date.
The identities of the accused are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
