The first of what organizers hope will be an annual event was held Saturday in the Eastern Ottawa Valley.
The Knights of the Inferno Firefighters Motorcycle Club held a Fire Station Photo Challenge Ride, a fundraiser whose goal is to enhance PTSD programming at the Robbie Dean Centre.
Club Member Jackson tells us about the Knights.
He says the 248 kilometre route the riders will take is among the most scenic in the Valley.
Jackson says Quadeville provided a brief respite before participants continued to their destination.
The Knights spokesperson says it may not be Zen, but there’s a certain therapeutic value to taking in the wind on two wheels.
McNab-Braeside Fire Chief Dan Hartwick says the local chapter of the KIFMC was organized by a retired member of his crew, Paul McCormack- who Jackson says distinguished himself during the Saturday event.
Hartwick was waiting to greet the riders at the Township’s Glasgow Station depot upon their arrival just after 230 Saturday afternoon, as was Monique Yashinski of the Robbie Dean Centre.
Monique expressed her gratitude to the Ride organizers.
Shining the light on PTSD came with a collective cheque for two thousand nine hundred sixty dollars- and then a few raindrops.
