The Pembroke Regional Hospital is celebrating a major milestone that its leaders say will improve patient care and the experience of coming to the hospital.
A grand opening was held yesterday afternoon for the new Tower C main entrance, which also contains new locations for the Mulvihill Drug Mart and the PRH Auxiliary’s Gift Shop.
Hospital president and CEO Sabine Mersmann says the new entrance is extremely important for the patient experience, clearing up significant congestion that existed in the previous space.
Mersmann thanked the hospital board, the Ministry of Health, the PRH Auxiliary, Mulvihill Drug Mart and her team at the hospital for helping make the new entrance a reality.
Brian Mulvihill, Mulvihill Drug Mart’s president and managing director, says he first got involved with the hospital many years ago when the facility was under different management.
Mulvihill concurred with Mersmann, saying the new wide-open, welcoming entrance space will help his business service people at the hospital and within the wider community.
