Petawawa’s mayor is inviting everybody interested in the achievements of local figures to attend the upcoming induction ceremony for the town’s Sports and Entertainment Hall of Fame class of 2026.
According to Gary Serviss, the idea for the hall first came together ten years ago in 2016.
This year has a class of four inductees, including competitive swimmer Alyson Ackman, horse racer and former MP Hec Clouthier Jr., late 1940s CFL star Glenn Douglas and actor and entertainer Tom Green.
Serviss says he’s not the sole decision-maker when it comes to selecting the people who will be inducted into the hall.
The ceremony is happening on Friday, June 12th at the Petawawa Civic Centre. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
Ackman, Clouthier and Green will all be in attendance. Serviss also says Green will perform some songs from his recent country album after the ceremony for everyone in attendance.
