The Rotary Club of Eganville’s Barry’s Bay satellite group has donated $1,000 to support a charity golf tournament raising funds for diagnostic imaging equipment at St. Francis Memorial Hospital.
The donation will sponsor the Friends of St. Francis Charity Golf Tournament, organized by the St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation.
Proceeds from this year’s tournament will go toward the purchase of a new X-ray unit for the hospital. The foundation says the facility performs approximately 7,500 X-ray examinations annually, and a replacement system would improve reliability, enhance patient safety and comfort, and help healthcare providers deliver faster and more accurate diagnoses.
The foundation continues to seek sponsors for the event. Information on sponsorship opportunities is available through the foundation.
The Rotary Club of Eganville is also encouraging local residents to consider joining its Barry’s Bay satellite group. Guided by Rotary International’s motto, “Service Above Self,” members support community initiatives through fundraising activities, including bingo events in Pembroke and other projects throughout the year.
The satellite group meets on the first and third Thursday of each month at noon at the Belge Bistro in Barry’s Bay. Residents interested in learning more about the organization are invited to attend a meeting.
