A local motorcycle club is raising money for Duchenne muscular dystrophy this weekend.
The Blacktop Bruisers Motorcycle Club is hosting its first-annual “Backlot Bash” on Saturday, June 6th, collecting donations to help fund research into the disease and support for people living with it.
According to organizer Jason Burgoyne, the cause is near and dear to the club: one of its members has children who live with it.
Burgoyne says the event will be a street party with a wide variety of attractions for attendees to enjoy.
The party will be a family-friendly event, Burgoyne adds, featuring childrens’ entertainment like bouncy castles.
The event is free to attend, raising money through 50/50 draws, a barbecue, and donations. The Backlot Bash begins at 1:00 p.m. Saturday outside Finnegan’s Road House in Pembroke.
