Pembroke’s Fire Chief is reminding local property owners to get their burn permits sorted out ahead of the summer.
According to Scott Selle, the burn permit bylaw – which was revised last fall – is available to review online and has all the information for what’s required in order to legally burn things on your property.
The bylaw also defines “dangerous conditions” provisions that allow the Fire Department to impose burn bans across the city.
Once people have reviewed the bylaw, Selle says they can contact the Fire Department to book an inspection of their property.
Information packages are available at the Fire Hall, mirroring the bylaw in an easier-to-understand format for residents.
Last fall’s amendments to the bylaw also saw the renewal period change for permits, Selle said.
Residents can review the bylaw on the City of Pembroke’s website.
