The Canadian Special Operations Forces Command will be training across a wide area of the Ottawa Valley and the Pontiac beginning later this week.
Operations begin in Petawawa and at the Pembroke and Area Airport on Thursday and Friday, then move across the river to Portage-du-Fort and the Chenaux Dam on Saturday and Sunday. The operation continues on Monday and Tuesday next week in Sheenboro, including travel on the Ottawa River.
Besides military vehicles, residents may also notice helicopters and small low-flying drones, as well as military personnel carrying firearms. While efforts will be made to minimize disruption, the military says residents may hear noises associated with explosives and blank small arms fire.
