A popular community fundraiser is set to return this summer, bringing residents together for a day of music and philanthropy in support of local health care.
Rockathon 2026 will take place June 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Valley Manor Courtyard, marking the event’s fifth year. The annual initiative invites participants to collect pledges and spend time rocking in chairs throughout the day to raise money for local health services.
Organizers say funds raised will go toward priority needs at Valley Manor and within the broader community, including therapeutic bathtubs, seasonal gifts for residents and outings aimed at improving quality of life.
“Rockathon is such a special event because it brings the community right into the heart of Valley Manor — sharing music, laughter, and time with our residents in a really meaningful way,” said Christine Hudder, communications and fundraising officer with the foundation. “At the same time, it raises much-needed funds that directly support their care, comfort, and quality of life.”
The event will feature live local music, refreshments and prizes, with organizers emphasizing its inclusive nature. Individuals can participate on their own or as part of teams of up to five, with each member asked to contribute one hour of rocking time.
Fundraising can be done through an online platform or by using traditional pledge sheets.
Registration is open through the foundation office by phone, email or in person. Pledge forms must be submitted by June 12.
