A 38-year-old Pembroke resident is facing charges after an impaired driving investigation led to the seizure of suspected cocaine, provincial police say.
Officers with the Upper Ottawa Valley detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were called to check an occupied parked vehicle in Pembroke at about 9:50 p.m. on April 23. After speaking with the driver, police began an impaired driving investigation.
During the investigation, officers seized a quantity of suspected cocaine.
Paula Audette, 38, has been charged with failure or refusal to comply with a demand under the Criminal Code and possession of a Schedule I substance — cocaine — under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Police said Audette’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
She was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on May 19.
