The Upper Ottawa Valley Heritage Centre is inviting residents to hunt for bargains and hidden gems at a community garage sale next month aimed at supporting local history programs.
The “Rummage Through Time” sale is set for May 23 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Heritage Centre on Pembroke Street East. Organizers say the one-day event will feature a wide range of gently used items, including books, clothing, household goods and vintage pieces.
Proceeds from the sale will go toward the centre’s ongoing programs and initiatives, which focus on preserving and showcasing the region’s heritage.
Organizers say the event is designed to appeal to a broad audience, from collectors to casual shoppers, while also encouraging community connection.
“It’s a great opportunity to give items a second life while contributing to a meaningful cause,” organizers said in a statement.
The Upper Ottawa Valley Heritage Centre, operated by the Ottawa Valley Historical Society, houses a collection of more than 10,000 artifacts and serves as a hub for local history and culture in Pembroke.
Organizers encourage visitors to arrive early for the best selection. Admission is free, and the event is open to the public.
