Airborne Petawawa is preparing to open for its third year in the Valley, and Drop Zone Manager Aria Vela is looking forward to another busy skydiving season.
Airborne Petawawa will open its doors again this Saturday, May 2, and this year Vela is excited to announce a handful of new offerings. A partnership with the CANEX Military Supply Depot of Petawawa will give potential jumpers an opportunity for financing. Vela explains:
Another new addition this season is a specialty harness developed for persons with disabilities, allowing them to take part in the sport alongside able-bodied participants—something Vela is very excited about:
Last year, a woman named Barb approached Vela and her team, saying it was her dying wish to skydive once in her life. Airborne Petawawa made it happen thanks to new technology that made it possible:
Barb passed away eight days after her jump, making it an experience Vela and her team will never forget.
Vela is also in the process of finalizing sponsorship arrangements with various companies, which she says will allow many who can’t afford the experience the opportunity to do so:
We’ll have more news from Vela on what else is in store this season in the coming weeks. Until then, head to the link below to book your jump today.
