Construction on a new access route connecting Norman Street to Petawawa Boulevard is set to begin later this month in Petawawa.
Town officials say Bonnechere Excavating Incorporated has been awarded the contract for the project, with work scheduled to start April 27 and continue through July.
The project includes road grading, paving, sidewalk installation, sewer and water service upgrades, and the addition of a pedestrian crossover, street lighting and an electric vehicle charging component.
Lane closures are expected during construction, although one lane will remain open for local and emergency traffic. Temporary driveway access restrictions may also occur, with advance notice provided to residents when possible.
Nearby property owners will be contacted about optional pre-construction inspections to document existing conditions before work begins.
Jp2g Consultants Inc. will oversee contract administration and on-site inspection services. Residents with questions are encouraged to contact the firm during the construction period.
The town says it appreciates the public’s patience as the work gets underway.
