The whole Northern tip of Whitewater Region is at risk from rising flood waters. Deputy Fire Chief Stacey Levesque says Whitewater Region firefighters have been busy with flood prevention efforts.
Levesque says flood waters have started to encroach on some homes and some roads have been washed out. Meanwhile, he’s hoping to avoid what is called “disaster tourism”, people who drive into the area just to check out the damage.
Levesque says the fire department has already lost access to some homes due to flooding across the road.
