A storytelling presentation will be held by The Valley’s own Gillan Rutz at Heritage Manor VENVI Pembroke on Monday, April 27 at 2 p.m., as part of a requested series of events being delivered at locations across Renfrew County.
The program will feature excerpts from the book This Valley I Call Home, offering stories, songs and reflections on early settlement life in the region.
Organizers say the presentation will take audiences back in time, exploring themes ranging from the fur trade to the logging era and the growth of the local tourism industry, all of which helped shape the identity of the Ottawa Valley.
The event is free to attend, but those wishing to participate are asked to RSVP at 613-613-7926. Additional presentation dates and locations are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
