Pembroke’s Deputy Mayor is inviting residents interested in playing a role in community safety to an upcoming meeting.
Participants in the city’s Community Watch program are convening for a meeting next Wednesday, April 22nd. Brian Abdallah, one of the co-chairs of the program, explained that it began shortly after he was initially elected in 2018:
Abdallah says the Community Watch group meets twice per year. The first meeting of 2026 is happening at the Pembroke Fire Station at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
The program is run by The City of Pembroke and The Pembroke Police Services Board in partnership with the OPP, and Abdallah says Constable Shawn Peever is in attendance for all meetings. Abdallah co-chairs alongside Pembroke’s Mayor, Ron Gervais.
Abdallah attributes the success of the program to a strong partnership between the City and the OPP as well as the hard work of the volunteers that take part.
Anyone interested in learning more about the program is encouraged to attend next Wednesday’s meeting at the fire station or contact Brian Abdallah – 613-312-6789 or Ron Gervais 613-735-6821 ext. 1390.
