The Ottawa Valley Thunder U15 BB team captured gold at the provincial championships held April 9–12 in Toronto, finishing the tournament with a perfect 6-0 record.
The Thunder secured their spot in the final after a dramatic semifinal victory over the Nepean Wildcats. The closely contested matchup stretched into four overtime periods before Ottawa Valley netted the winner, ending a marathon game that kept spectators on edge.
In the gold medal game, the Thunder faced the Lucan Irish in another tightly fought contest. With the score tied at the end of regulation, the game required extra time once again. Ottawa Valley ultimately sealed the championship in double overtime, scoring the decisive golden goal.
Players battled throughout the tournament, maintaining their undefeated record against strong provincial competition. The championship caps off a season marked by consistent effort and team play.
The victory sparked celebrations among players, coaches and supporters, as the Thunder completed their run to the provincial title.
