The Pembroke Community Choir is preparing to showcase some showtunes in a few days.
Choir Director Gerald LaRonde says a “Broadway Revue” concert will be held on April 18th and 19th, featuring a variety of theatrical songs from over the years.
LaRonde says the show will start with songs from Oklahoma!, a popular musical from the 1940s, before moving forward through history one musical at a time.
Works from popular composers like Andrew Lloyd-Webber and Rodgers and Hammerstein will also be included.
LaRonde says he can’t pick a favourite part of the show, as he’s been heavily involved in the proces of curating what songs have been selected.
Both performances are happening at Calvin United Church in Pembroke. The April 18th show begins at 1:30 p.m. while the Sunday performance starts at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets are available in advance at Fleurish in Petawawa, the Customer Care Centre at the Pembroke Mall and from choir members for $15. Tickets at the door will cost $20. Kids ages 13 and under are allowed in for free.
